A Need For A Safe Haven

Housing options that enable victims of domestic and sexual violence to remain close to their jobs, children's schools, or family members are virtually non-existent in southwest Minnesota.

Hotels are frequently used to temporarily safe-house victims of violence and the nearest shelters are one to three hours away and often there are no openings.

A local shelter for crisis situations and transitional housing in southwest Minnesota would make it possible for survivors of domestic and sexual violence to maintain a sense of normalcy and sustain supportive relationships in the midst of the violence.

For victims of domestic and sexual violence, Project Stepping Stones will be more than just a building. Programming and staff will provide a supportive atmosphere to empower a survivor's safety and healing as they re-imagine and rebuild their lives!
